Join us on Wednesday of the 2020 Gay Softball World Series (August 26, 2020) as we raise funds for suicide prevention and mental health at our GSWS charity event! LGBTQ adults and youth experience higher rates of depression, anxiety, and suicide than our non-LGBTQ friends and family.
At the 2020 Gay Softball World Series, Columbus will be shining a spotlight on these health issues, with a focus on equipping our community with skills and resources to enrich our mental health, protect against suicide risk, and help those in our softball community and beyond.
Our 2020 GSWS charities are The Trevor Project (national) and Kaleidoscope Youth Center (Columbus).
Want to show your support early , feel free to send us a donation by clicking on the DONATE TO US banner above. Be sure to indicate which city you are from and the charity you would like your donation directed to when submitting your donation.
Both organizations provide services that support LGBTQ youth and young adults and provide connection and community – tools that reduce the risk of depression, anxiety, and suicide. Your city will benefit, too! In the first quarter of 2020, we are initiating a pre-GSWS fundraising opportunity through which each NAGAAA member city can raise funds for mental health and suicide prevention services in your area. Return here in February for details.
Save the date! Wednesday, August 26 will be a night to remember: the culmination of our spotlight on mental health and suicide prevention and a celebration of the LGBTQ softball community!
